Hi Everyone!
I am so impressed with our farm members. Your response to our necessary change in delivery plan has been overwhelmingly positive and I have been so impressed with your efforts to coordinate pick-up with other farm members, to reach out to those in your immediate community who are also wanting to share in the travel and time to get to the farm. You guys are amazing!!
I am new to the whole forum set-up world, I have absolutely no idea what I am doing, so I apologize if I totally mess this up.
The goal here is to help our farm members coordinate their pick-up locations. The whole reason we began deliveries in the first place was because we know and understand that your lives are busy, many of you don't have a vehicle readily available, nor do you have the fuel funds to take a jaunt in the country.
We still want you to be able to get your farm goodies without necessarily coming to the farm every week. Why not share the load? With each current drop site hosting between 10-15 members (we know we have a few exceptions to that) we are thinking that it might be easier to take turns with doing a farm pick-up run. That way each farm member only has to make the trek out to the farm 3-4 times a year.
For our Full-Diet Members, you have the option of locating farm members in your area who would be willing to trade pick-up dates as well. We don't have anyone who lives so far out on their own-some that there isn't a fellow farm member in the area who can help. Of course as farm members you are welcome to come out to the farm on a weekly, every other week, or monthly basis anyway, there isn't a rule that says you HAVE to come every week. Your food is just fresher that way!
Guidelines for using this forum:
1. State your location in your subject line. This will help other farm members to know if you are even an option for them.
2. State in the body of your message if you can trade pick-up, provide pick-up, or are unable to do pick-up at all but would still love to participate.
3. Keep it friendly. I know this should be a no-brainer, but it seems that in our day and age the reminder is necessary! Everyone here is just trying to help everyone else out so please be mindful of that!
That's pretty much it, I'll keep tabs on this so that I can make a suggestion here and there, but I'm really hoping that all of our amazing farm members out there can actually organize themselves into pick-up teams.
Thanks so much for all of your efforts!
